It rained during the night. We woke up to clouds. 29 days no bad weather,…
Nothing to See Here
Excellent day, not much to blog about.
In the morning we set off for the Hastings Farmer’s Market which was in Havelock North, walkable for us (because Horse of the Year was in Hastings occupying the space! See yesterday’s blog post!). Great market; farmers, ranchers, walnut and fig growers, beekeepers, bakeries, the lot. We picked up some food for the pantry and carried on to Hastings to run some errands.

When we took lunch, the rain came down. I mean it was sunny, the sun was shining boldly, but also it was raining. Indicative of the day; unpredictable.

In the afternoon it was cloudy with sunny periods, or sunny with cloudy periods, not sure which. We drove out to a point on the TukiTuki River, where a bike path runs for kms and kms along an embankment, and walked for a couple of hours. Not a soul about. Except for sheep. Some cattle, a lot of sheep.

For dinner we drove into Napier to visit one of the “African Animals” from 1985, Steven, and his wife Lisa, and his son Benji. Had an excellent dinner, chicken, lamb sausages, corn, potatoes, salads, watermelon. Sat and reminisced by their pool before digging in. Soon enough, back to the pavilion.
I warned you at the top there wasn’t much to see here.
